Provo River Watershed Council Strategic Plan
Provo River Watershed/Wasatch Front, Utah
Issues that the Council was Trying to Solve with this Project
The Council needed a framework for prioritizing their involvement (leading or supporting) with watershed initiatives aimed at protecting water quality in the Provo River, which is a major water supply source for the rapidly growing Salt Lake/Utah Lake region.
A clear vision was needed for the future on actions to take that were based on the relative threat and overall risk to water quality.
Value that the AE2S Team Provided the Council
- Created innovative approach to assess and rank threats and overall risks to water supply/water quality throughout the Provo River Watershed, which had significant variability in the land uses.
- Developed clear and usable strategic plan that outlined both near- and long-term actions that the Council could lead or support that would improve water supply resiliency as it relates to water quality.
