AE2S announces the hire of Michael Swearingen to the firm’s new office in the Denver metro area. As Regional Client Program Leader, Michael will lead the growth initiatives for the firm’s team in Englewood and the surrounding communities in support of surface water, stormwater, drainage, water/wastewater treatment and conveyance-related work in the area.
“In joining AE2S I look forward to helping to grow the firm into the Colorado and Mountain West market by promoting AE2S’ focus on extreme client service. Although this market is well represented by large national and multi-national firms, AE2S’ focus on being a water engineering firm first uniquely positions it to fill the underserved needs of both large and small municipal and district organizations,” says Michael. “Water here in the west is the most limited, controlled and precious resource we have. Helping communities and organizations to be good stewards of that resource helps all of us, and that is exciting and fulfilling.”
Michael has over 25 years of professional experience across a large range of clients and industries related to infrastructure and civil works projects, including past work for Denver Water, Colorado Springs Utilities, and the surrounding communities. Prior to joining AE2S, he was a Vice President at a prominent international engineering firm, where he led projects in the industrial and infrastructure sectors. Over the last few years, he supported programs and projects related to large-scale drinking water treatment and delivery, industrial wastewater, and reservoirs. He has extensive knowledge of project management, business operations and business financial management, marketing and employee relations.
“In the short period I have worked with Michael, he has continually exceeded expectations with critical insight and breadth of knowledge and experience ranging from municipal to industrial clients,” says Brian Gaddie, Assistant Operations Manager.
Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Biology from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Kennedy-Western University. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Steel Tank Institute, American Petroleum Institute, International Facility Management Association and U.S. Green Building Council.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys the outdoors, riding his Harley road bike and several off-road bikes. He also likes to spend time with his three sons.
