Marty Doll, AE2S Communications Practice Leader, has honed his skills in communications and strategic planning over the course of his 20-year career. Starting as a television sports reporter intern in Fargo, North Dakota during college, Marty soon found his niche in government communications and community development, spending 17 years serving in local government in the Minneapolis, Minnesota metro area. Prior to arriving at AE2S in 2022, Marty held the positions of Public Information Technician, Communications Coordinator, Communications and Community Engagement Director, as well as Community and Economic Development Director for multiple counties and municipalities in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Twin Cities area.

After graduating from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications in 2005, he moved to the Minneapolis/St. Paul suburbs. In the summer of 2022, Marty and his wife, Jennifer, decided to trade city life for a life in their rural hometown. They brought their son, Archer, and daughter, Evelyn, back to New Salem, North Dakota to allow them to experience living near their grandparents and cousins in the town of about 1,000 people. Marty found property near where his family farms around 4,500 acres of wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, and sunflowers and have 450 head of beef cattle.

“After spending 17 years in municipal/county government communications and community development, I was excited to bring my experience to AE2S to help clients achieve their strategic communications and economic development goals,” he explains. In September 2024, Marty stepped into the AE2S Communications Practice Leader position. In his new role, Marty oversees the Communications Practice staff, sales, and workload, which includes communications, marketing/branding, strategic planning, economic development, and public information projects for AE2S clients.

When he’s not at work, Marty enjoys hunting and fishing, or just “putzing” on backyard projects. Marty and Jennifer love to attend annual country music festivals such as WeFest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and CountryFest in New Salem. As a family, they like hanging out in the outdoors, spending time at the lake, camping, going to movies, and attending WWE bouts whenever they can. Though he no longer lives in Minnesota, he continues to root for the State’s NFL team.  “I am a diehard (but jaded and realistic) Vikings fan. I will be the first to tell you they won’t win more than three games each offseason – but I don’t miss a game,” Marty says with a laugh.
