AE2S recognized Cory Chorne, Strategic Client Leader, this fall with the Charles S. Vein Core Values Award. The firm created the award in 2021 in honor of the AE2S founder after his retirement. The Charles S. Vein Core Values Award is peer-nominated and given annually to an Employee-Owner who exemplifies the AE2S core values of vision, passion, integrity, attitude, value, and relationships. Charlie placed a high value on these traits. As one of Cory’s nominators said, he is an excellent example of Charlie’s leadership style: “Surround yourself with good people, provide opportunity, encourage, and appreciate those people.”

Cory exemplifies all the core values that define the best of AE2S. One of his nominators said, “Cory is a deeply knowledgeable and hardworking engineer who is passionate about providing extreme client service. He is also a great communicator, has a contagiously positive outlook, is respectful of everyone working on projects, and he approaches delicate situations with kindness and honesty.”

Another nominator said, “In addition to serving our clients well, Cory is also very focused on the success and well-being of AE2S and AE2S staff. He is a great resource for young staff finding their way as they work to balance their goals, work demands, and the overall work-life balance.”

“I’m humbled and honored and greatly appreciative for all the support that everybody here and across the company has given me over the years. It’s really been an honor and a pleasure. While looking back on 26-plus years, I can probably count on one or two hands the number of bad days. And that’s a tribute to Charlie and the culture that he created here at AE2S,” said Cory as he accepted the award.

Cory joined the AE2S team in 1998. For much of his career, he has focused on rural water system clients to help them develop large-scale regional water systems. He works closely with clients in the development, phasing, design, and construction of projects. Earlier this year, he received the North Dakota Rural Water Systems Association Friend of Rural Water Award after clients nominated him for the honor. They cited his willingness to help and called him a great mentor, friend, and advocate for rural water.

Previous recipients of the Charles S. Vein Core Values Award include Steve Seibert (2021), Brian Bergantine (2022), and Nancy Ziegler (2023).

Congratulations Cory on this well-deserved award!
