The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has extended the public input period for the draft PFAS monitoring plan until Friday, January 21, 2022. The updated deadline will allow interested parties to review the MPCA PFAS sampling guidance and the revised PFAS analytical guidance. MPCA has an online PFAS monitoring plan comment form to gather input.
The MPCA’s draft PFAS monitoring plan lays out a path forward for PFAS monitoring at solid waste, wastewater, and stormwater facilities, hazardous waste landfills, facilities with air emissions, and sites in the Brownfield or Superfund programs. The draft plan does not establish facility-specific requirements. However, it does outline how the MPCA plans to prioritize locations for PFAS monitoring, and what the monitoring entails.
MPCA has scheduled a public listening session about the remediation PFAS monitoring plan on January 4, 2022, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. The meeting information will be available on the MPCA PFAS monitoring plan page, and a reminder email will be circulated through the Remediation (REM) GovDelivery list.
